Hold the coffee! Pause the Fixer Upper rerun! The to-do list can wait! It’s hitting me like a ton of bricks today:

Have you considered the weight and wonder of this INSANE announcement?

It’s embarrassing how quickly we become numb to this truth we know so well!

Life is loud, isn’t? And demanding. And a bit frenzied. And sometimes a happy hour Sonic drink or Netflix after the kids go to bed seems like the best thing in the world. But today, as I’m thinking toward Easter and what it really means for the other 364 days of the year, I’m reminded of the incomparable hope and peace and joy that is mine for the taking because of Jesus!

Wouldn’t it be awesome if, like Drew Barrymore’s character in 50 First Dates, our reality was dramatically revealed to us every morning as if we were hearing it for the very first time? Yes please! What if we allowed the reality of the cross and the resurrection to sink deep into our hurry-scurry, preoccupied hearts? What if we could grasp, in even the tiniest way, the gravity of His compassion towards us?

My suspicion is that our only response would be to WORSHIP HIM…To fall on our knees in our kitchens and pour out our praise in the middle of the day. To whisper songs in our offices and unleash our affection on the One who has so poured out His love on us. To let our minds rest on scripture in the school pick up line and pray those inspired words back to Him in agreement. To raise our hands among friends and give testimony to His power. And as we lay our heads down at night, to reflect back to Him the value and beauty that belong to Him.

Colossians 1:16 says, “We were created by Him and FOR HIM.”  Stamped with His image, we know deep down that there is something that we attach to, fit with, exist for. And because of that, we’ll find our greatest satisfaction and peace as we worship Him.

So today’s post is just a brief invitation…

As a band of moms that truly want to honor Him in our homes and with our families, let’s move into the Easter weekend intentionally, with hearts ready to worship, eyes fixed on Jesus, doing what we were created to do.

If you need a starting place, I wanted to share some of my current favorite worship music that is helping focus my heart and put words to my praise.

And here are a few compelling scriptures to meditate on:

1 Corinthians 15

Ephesians 2:4-8

Philippians 2:6-11

Colossians 1:15-22

Happy Easter! HE’S ALIVE!
